Installation and Troubleshooting

On this page you will find installation guidance and troubleshooting tips

Installation

Please always run your machines cleaning cycle before installing your new filter - this will optimise and protect your machine.
  1. After removing the filter from it's sealed bag, submerge totally in water and leave for at least 5 minutes. This removes the air inside the filter and you will see small bubbles coming out. Once all the air is removed the bubbles will stop.
  2. Shake the filter up and down a few times to clear any remaining air pockets.
  3. Set the timer to the current month and insert the filter into your filter holder.
  4. Return the filter holder to the tank, ensuring to push it securely into position.
  5. Fill the tank with water and run the machine through to clear any coffee grinds that may have built up.

Troubleshooting

If you are facing any issues with the installation of operation of your filter please review the guidance below.

If you need any help please contact us here for a response within 2 hours.

Limited water flow

  • Occasionally a machine will not allow water through the filter.
  • One reason is due to the machines cleaning cycle needing to be run - we find this is the case on Bambino and Bambino Plus machines.
  • Run your machines cleaning cycle, give the filter a good shake and then reinstall the filter.
  • Another reason is that all the air has not been removed from the filter. Soak the filter for a little longer, give it a shake and then reinstall.

Milky white water in the tank

  • If all the air has not been expelled during the pre-soaking process the water in your tank can initially appear milky white after installation.
  • This is completely normal and is nothing to worry about. It will clear by itself and no action is required.
  • The milky water effect is due to very small sir bubbles in the water and can be seen in tap water as well at times when air is trapped in the pipes.

Filter does not fit my machine

  • Our filters are compatible with many Breville/Sage machines but not those that require a charcoal filter.
  • Please check compatibility on the table below.
  • If you have purchased the wrong filter please simply return it for a full refund.
